The EOS Rebel T1i Has a Few Flaws

Not that it matters how much you can expect, but the D90 SLR has a tiny (12.3MP) image sensor is slightly smaller than the expensive EOS Rebel T1i (15.1MP). When these data were all you knew, then it seems obvious that the reasonably Rebel T1i, the unsurpassed SLR for the money today.

With only focus on the technical specification, the figures do not, you need to understand the big picture (pun intended) here. Bigger is sometimes better.

I'm sure you've read in a fewmy previous letter, that many megapixels do not immediately making great pictures. The image sensor is able to cope with more megapixels.

The APS-C sensor in the SLR T1i busy, actually is a bit smaller than the DX sensor of the type used by the Nikon D90. Of course, there are a few possibilities of extra pixels in a smaller box to push. With tinier pixels, and pressed closer to working together. This contributes to a less well-known specification labeled pixel density. In the case ofT1i SLR is about 50% worse than the D90. Of 4.5 for the Rebel SLR T1i, and 3.3 for the Nikon D90 DX.

Having extra pixels on an image sensor can cause several problems. How do you go in search of additional lenses, you will quickly learn that more megapixels means more expensive lenses fall. The better developed the lens with high resolution, the ability to come with an extra megapixel job, not the cheap lenses.

Hat box, the Canon EF-S 18-55mm hasf/3.5-5.6 IS with the EOS Rebel T1i, and it would not promise my favorite lens for a digital camera, 15.1 megapixels. In this writers humble opinion, a better lens for the Rebel SLR T1i should have been slightly more expensive 18-200mm Canon EF-S.

But that's not how far we are not ready to explain the difficulties with excessive pixel density. Pixel density can adversely affect the dynamic range, ISO, and diffraction. I do not know how about you, but I thinkthat getting a bunch fewer megapixels from the Nikon D90 12.3MP for more a few more bucks, may be a better choice for my dollar.

An camera industry accepted test used to evaluate RAW sensor data is the Dx O Mark test. DxOMark testing is not currently available, but the EOS Rebel T1i uses the Canon EOS 50D sensor. The testing has shown, that the D90 SLR image sensor is superior to the EOS 50D sensor. There's every reason to believe that forthcoming Rebel T1i test results will be very similar to the Canon 50D data.
