The Canon Rebel XSi (known in Europe as 450D) is an excellent semi-professional digital camera. Lightweight, with great battery lasting life (and it recharges very fast), is easy to use even if you're a newcomer to reflex digital photography, but can satisfy also the more "mature" user with a large variety of pre-set shooting modes as well as the manual settings. These proper use of manual settings require some experience, but give probably the best results in terms of the actual capabilities of the XSi. The instruction manual provides good information and tips on how to use these features and is a recommended reading if you want to enjoy this camera. The lenses are really good. The 18-55 has the Canon's IS feature (autostability) and great focal. I personally prefer the Canon 75-300 tele. Is very luminous lens and easy to adjust.
The overall kit is a real bargain and fully worth the price. Great buy and great fun with this camera!

The Digital Rebel T1i Faces the Competition

Is the Rebel T1i the Smarter Choice?

If your someone who is interested in technical data as you see it, the Canon Rebel SLR T1i has a 15.1MP image sensor, and the more expensive Nikon D90 has a 12.3mega-pixel image sensor. If these specifications have you needed, then it would be reasonably obvious that the T1i Rebel SLR is the best digital camera for the money today.
